Our Massage programs are designed for massage therapists who are seeking the Board Certification requirements and/or those interested in specialized advanced techniques in order to enhance their massage skills. In most cases, enrollment into these courses is limited solely to those who have graduated from a Basic Massage Therapy program. Individuals that do not fit this description, but wish to attend these advanced courses must be approved by Sterling Health Center’s Director or Director of Education prior to enrollment.
All our Advanced Programs consist of 250-340 hours and qualify students to sit for the new Board Certification exam (NCBTMB). In order to achieve Board Certification, a student must complete a total of 750 hours and take the new Board Certification Exam which includes the subjects of Kinesiology and Pathology. If you were licensed based on the 300 hour Massage Therapy Program requirements prior to the rule change effective September 1st, 2007, you already have at least 300 hours accomplished. Additional continued education credits may be applied toward the certification if they meet the approved requirements.
- Students may qualify to transfer up to 70 hours from another school for credit towards their chosen Board Certification Program. These hours are subject to approval by the Director of SHC.
Tuition is $13/hour, and payment plans are available. Textbooks, supplies, and Application fees are not included. Cost of the classes does not include the Board Certification testing. Eligible student must pay this fee directly to NCBTMB.
Sterling Health Center offers Massage Therapy courses in some of the most exciting and highly demanded specialty areas.
The flexibility of our schedules allows students to sign up for almost any advanced program or courses at anytime during the year.
