COURSE #1: OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE PHILOSOPHY WITH EMPHASIS ON ASSESSING THE HEAD:
A TECHNIQUE CLASS

Students will learn about Osteopathic Philosophy, how Osteopaths assess and examine the body, and how to use these techniques in applying medical massage.This course will specifically address injuries to the head, i.e. contra coup blows to the head, traumatic brain injuries-signs and symptoms, determining vectors of force to accurately access the real patterns of injury, musculoskeletal injuries, nerve entrapments and crush injuries.
As these injuries respond well to osteopathic soft tissue technique, the student will learn effective application of therapeutic massage techniques to address these injuries

THE THORACIC CAGE

The thorasic cage is the "Heart" of the body. We breath 24,000 times a day. The heart beats 120,000 times a day. Even a little dysfunction in the cage causes an immense "Drag" on the body. Topics included are as follows:
Somatic emotional release centered in the parasternal area
Normal pump and bucket handle motions of breathing
The implications of asthma, smoking in the chest musculature
Ribs stuck in the exhalation and inhalation
Lymphatic drainage in the cage (breat and lung cancer, inflammation disorders)
Rib raising techniques used to combat the high mortality rate of the famous 1918 flu pandemic (30% mortality rate)
Cranial sacral techniques for the rib cage
How breathing difficulties lead to a magnesium deficiency causing a cramping crisis of muscles

OSTEOPATHIC PHILOSOPHY AND THE STRUCTURAL EXAM OF ABDOMEN, PELVIS, AND SACRUM

This course will emphasize the standard osteopathic exam format of the muscular system of the abdomen and sacrum., which is the gold standard for clinical records, as well as, being a remarkable massage therapy!
These are the standard exams and soft tissue techniques taught to all osteopathic medical students. It has all the best aspects of the osteopathic profession as applied to a massage approach. Extend your abilities much farther with this unique approach to mid body dysfunction.
Explained and demonstrated. Will be the following information and techniques.
1) Release techniques for: Pelvis-pelvic diaphragm, presacral fascia, pelvic torsion techniques, inguinal ligament, erector spinae illiopsoas muscles. Abdomen-median umbilical, falciform, and coronary ligaments. Lattisimus dorsi, all oblique muscles.
2) Tune-ups for the pelvic and respitory diaphrams
3) How to respond to somatoemotional releases and their most common locations
